Mission, Information and Services

Piedmont Housing Alliance provides comprehensive homeownership counseling and peer group support for first time homebuyers. Through Homebuyers Club participation and/or individual homeownership counseling, you will learn how to manage your income, consolidate debts, save money toward your eventual down payment and closing costs, and apply for a mortgage. Homebuyers Club members are required to attend a monthly group meeting and will also receive one-on-one counseling as needed. In order to achieve your goal of homeownership, a certified housing counselor will assist you in completing the following Five Steps to Home Ownership. The program takes from 6 months to 3 years to complete.

The Regional Home Ownership Center (RHOC) provides the following:
-ONE STOP SHOP for pre and post purchase needs
-One on one counseling-Pre-purchase, Default/delinquency and Foreclosure
-Access to downpayment assistance funding
-Access to reduced rate first mortgages (VHDA)
-Access to local government first time home buyer assistance
-Educational classes and workshops

WE TURN RENTERS INTO HOMEOWNERS: The RHOC has helped over 408 families purchase a home-78 in 2006 alone; we're well on our way to reaching our goal of assisting 500 families purchase their home by 2008!!!
