My name is Zyahna Bryant, and I was born and raised right here in Charlottesville. In 2009, my mother purchased the home I grew up in with the help of Piedmont Housing Alliance. I still remember the excitement my mother and siblings felt as we prepared to move into our home just before Christmas. 

That moment was more than a milestone; it was a turning point for our family. Seeing my mother’s hard work and dedication inspired me to dream of homeownership myself, and to eventually become a homeowner at 21. Because of Piedmont Housing Alliance’s mission, my sisters and I now deeply value the importance of legacy-building and creating stability for future generations. 

Today, as the Mission Investment and Engagement Manager at Piedmont Housing Alliance, I have the privilege of witnessing the transformative work happening every day through our Financial Opportunity Center and the Piedmont Community Land Trust. These programs do more than provide housing; they create pathways to financial security, equity, and opportunity.
