Meet Our New Community Management Leadership

We are pleased to announce that Bernitta Johnson is Piedmont Housing Alliance’s new Director of Community Management. This position was formerly the Regional Community Manager.
Bernitta comes to the Charlottesville area from Alabama and has over 20 years of affordable housing experience.

As Director of Community Management, Ms. Johnson will lead our team of leasing office professionals and maintenance technicians.

New Maintenance Director

We are also happy to announce Derick Powe as our new Maintenance Director.

Mr. Powe has been with Piedmont Housing for 5 years. During this time he has served as a Maintenance Technician and most recently as Maintenance Supervisor at Friendship Court. Derick is also part of the organization’s Racial Equity Steering Committee.

As directors, both Ms. Johnson and Mr. Powe are part of Piedmont Housing’s stewardship team.
