Evictions Suspended in Response to Coronavirus

Piedmont Housing Alliance is suspending all evictions until the Virginia Governor’s declared COVID-19 state of emergency Virginia has been lifted. In keeping with our mission of creating affordable housing opportunities and fostering community, we are committed to protecting our residents during this public health emergency.

We will postpone all pending court actions until the state of emergency is lifted. We will also suspend all activities and notices related to evictions until that time.

Fees for late payment of rent will be waived.

All residents who face hardship in the coming weeks will be met with long-term support to ensure that everyone maintains stable, healthy housing.

The current crisis will trigger reductions in economic well-being and household income for residents at our properties, many of whom already face disproportionate financial burdens. In order to combat the spread of COVID-19 and keep our residents safe and healthy, we must keep everyone housed.
