How Piedmont Housing Alliance’s Housing Counseling + Financial Services Can Help You

Piedmont Housing Alliance is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency (HCA). The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development trains and approves HCAs to provide tools to current and prospective homeowners and renters so that they can make responsible choices to address their housing needs in light of their financial situations.

Our housing counseling team is led by Kristen Lucas, our director of housing counseling and economic opportunity, and also consists of an assistant director of housing counseling, a housing counselor and an economic opportunity coordinator (EOC). The EOC serves the Friendship Court community.

So what does the housing counseling team do? We offer individualized counseling services, financial and homebuying classes and workshops, fair housing education and more. The team also administers our down payment loan program, the Virginia Individual Development Accounts (VIDA) program and other financial services.
