Housing All for Generations to Come
Piedmont Housing Alliance has been in a growth season for a while. The staff has continued to grow and structural changes are still taking place internally to strengthen how we deliver our mission and serve our community. With so much growth from the inside out, it became clear that the branding that Piedmont Housing currently had was outdated and did not accurately represent the organization as it currently stands.
So we began the journey of rebranding. The logo you see today of two circles of houses enclosing an inner ring of rooflines conveys just how dedicated we are to equity and community development from the inside out. While our work may often start in specific communities with individuals who live there, our mission to create affordable housing opportunities and foster community through education, lending, and equitable development must expand to other communities, community partners and those who use all of our services for our mission to be accomplished. The new logo radiates energy that we feel daily from the inside out as we look toward—and prepare for—the future of our organization.
Sunshine Mathon, our Executive Director, said “It’s critically important that our identity, externally and internally, aligns with our mission, growth and goals. In this spirit, we are excited to refresh our branding and messaging so that everyone clearly understands the important work we do on a daily basis.”
Throughout history, cultures worldwide have found that circles offer protection, innovation (the wheel anyone?) and create a sense of unity and equality among those who are part of it.
Our “circle” is ever changing and expanding as we reach more and more people and push for more and more affordable housing. Not only do we want to provide more affordable housing, we want to ensure that we are doing so in the most equitable way possible.
Our rebrand includes a redesigned website where you will see more stories and successes from residents and clients, more video of residents, more education opportunities and classes, and more about initiatives that we believe are important and deserve to be explored more in depth, including our commitment to and work around racial equity.
