Board Profile: Ramona Chapman
(In January 2015, Piedmont Housing Alliance was fortunate to bring on board five new members to our Board of Directors. This blog series is designed to show you how fortunate we are to have them.)
These days, Ramona Chapman doesn’t live in Charlottesville and she doesn’t work in Charlottesville. But no worries: Ramona knows Charlottesville.
Ramona grew up in Albemarle County, and her first job in housing was in Charlottesville as a Grants Management and Policy Analyst for the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, which manages local public housing properties.
When Ramona left Charlottesville, her career path took her to Richmond, where she is the Capacity Development Specialist for the Virginia Dept. of Housing and Community Development. In that job she wears many hats, and helping out housing organizations like Piedmont Housing is one of them. “It’s hard to imagine having a better advisor than Ramona,” says our Deputy Director, Karen Reifenberger. “She is knowledgeable, strategic, and deeply versed in the affordable housing field. We are so fortunate she has joined the board.” Indeed we are.
