A Room of One’s Own

Last week many of us on staff at Piedmont Housing had a real treat.  Portfolio Manager Debbie Webber and her leprechaun helpers put on a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day luncheon for the residents of Monticello Vista Apartments.  Corned beef and cabbage, beef stew, green cupcakes and leis made of shamrocks-the whole shillelagh!!

One of the guests was Sharon, who has lived at Monticello Vista for just under two years.  Prior to finding her apartment at MVA, Sharon lived in a group home.  “I’m so happy to be at MVA,” she told me.”I can cook my own meals, and watch television whenever I want without someone fussing at me.”  Sounds like the definition of independent living.
