Board Profile: Steve Nichols

When our new Executive Director came on board in early 2014, Piedmont Housing held several “Meet the ED” luncheons. One of the local leaders who accepted our invitation was Steve Nichols, who had himself been the County Administrator in Fluvanna County only since April 2012.

Right away, we were taken with Steve’s plain spoken, no nonsense manner, his thoughtful questions, and his results-oriented thinking. Some of this may come from serving more than 36 years in the United States Navy before his retirement in 2009, but most of it seems to come from his acute observations of human nature and a deep well of common sense.

As our board selection process moved forward last year, Steve was among those at the top of our list, and we are fortunate that he accepted the invitation. We can already tell that Steve is going to help us get a lot done.
