2015 Assets and Opportunities Scorecard
The Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED) has released its annual Scorecard of Assets and Opportunities. They claim to offer the most comprehensive look available at Americans’ ability to save and build wealth, stay out of poverty and create a more prosperous future.
As you may have guessed, the score remains very lopsided. The 2015 Scorecard finds that millions of Americans are seeing little evidence of economic recovery, despite the fact that several indicators suggest the economy is improving. In the housing area, the statistics also show that there is a disparity between white households who own their home (72%) vs. households of color who are home owners (45%.) No matter how you score it, we have a long way to go to an equal opportunity society.
