Nature All Around Us

Dorothy White is an observer of nature.  On her sojourns from her home at Piedmont Housing’s Meadowlands Apartment, she walks in the woods and wonders at the beauty around her.  She finds beauty that others would overlook–the decomposed tree root shaped like an alligator, the metamorphic rock whose surface tells the story of a long-ago climatic event, the branch covered in lichen and fungi that reveal the direction it faced as it grew.

Dorothy came to Piedmont Housing through our partnership with David Hawkins, the Housing Navigator at the Haven.  He helps people who need a place to live, and from time to time, Piedmont Housing has openings in our rental housing for people like Dorothy.  We’re glad she has come home to the Meadowlands.
