Out and About
In his first fifteen months at the helm of Piedmont Housing Alliance, Executive Director Frank Grosch has been building relationships with numerous community leaders. One of those leaders is Marta Keene, who took the reins of JABA (Jefferson Area Board for Aging) at about the same time. The two agencies have shared interests, including most prominently providing decent housing for elders on fixed incomes.
These relationships blossom in many ways, and last week Frank was the guest of Marta’s on a panel addressing leadership with current fellows who are attending the Federal Executive Institute. The FEI provides leadership training for employees of the US Government and is located right here in Charlottesville.
The attendees were impressed by the communication and interconnectivity within the non-profit community. For a town with more than 500 non-profits, that is a critical piece of the puzzle. We need to fit together and work together, and here in Charlottesville, we do it pretty well.
