Piedmont Housing Alliance has acquired Woods Edge, an affordable senior housing community, in a joint venture with Jefferson Area Board on Aging (JABA). Previously owned by Fore Properties, which built the 97-unit apartment property in 2002, Woods Edge is located in Albemarle County, Virginia, just off of Rio Road.

This recent acquisition brings Piedmont Housing Alliance’s portfolio of affordable housing up to 350 units in and around Charlottesville.  New property management staff have joined their team.

Woods Edge offers one and two bedroom apartments that are close to nature yet still near the city.

Piedmont Housing Alliance manages affordable housing, including affordable housing for seniors, through its property management company, Alliance Management. Alliance Management assumed management of two JABA properties in October, 2016  – Timberlake Place Apartments in Charlottesville and Ryan School Apartments, in Shipman, Nelson County.

“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with JABA, and to preserve this important affordable housing for seniors in Albemarle County,” said Piedmont Housing Alliance Chief Operating Officer Karen Reifenberger. Improvements planned for the property under new ownership include a new roof, new lighting and electrical systems, and new furnishings in common area areas.

There will be an Open House at Woods Edge on Tuesday, May 2 from 1:00-4:00 pm both for current residents and also to welcome potential new residents interested in leasing.

We hope to see you there!
