Meet Lloyd Snook, President of the Board

Lloyd Snook

Lloyd Snook, III serves as President of the Piedmont Housing Alliance Board of Directors and has been a member of the board since 2005. Lloyd grew up in Charlottesville and returned following law school to build a varied and distinguished career as an appellate and trial attorney, founding his own firm, now Snook & Haughey, P.C., in 1985.

Lloyd served on the Charlottesville Planning Commission from 1981 to 1989, including serving as Chair in 1988 and 1989. During his time on the Planning Commission, he chaired the Housing Task Force, which studied how to promote home ownership in the face of rising area housing costs. Lloyd was impressed by Piedmont Housing’s success in helping revitalize local housing, including the city’s 10th and Page Street neighborhood. Lloyd looks forward to the planned redevelopment of Friendship Court and is enthusiastic about the opportunity for this effort to be a model for mixed-income, mixed-use development.

Lloyd is a frequent analyst for local and national media on matters of criminal and constitutional law. He is a graduate of Charlottesville’s Lane High School, Stanford University, and the University of Michigan School of Law.
