Piedmont Housing Alliance Announces New CEO

The Board of Directors of Piedmont Housing Alliance announces that Mr. Sunshine Mathon has joined the organization as chief executive officer. Mathon will begin his position in August.

Mathon comes to Charlottesville from Austin, Texas, where for the past ten years he has served as the Director of Real Estate Development for Foundation Communities. Foundation Communities owns and manages more than 3,000 homes and apartments and also provides a range of support structures including financial literacy education, afterschool programs, and case management for homeless families. Mathon has overseen $120M of deeply sustainable, equitable, and service-rich affordable housing development projects, providing more than 1,400 homes for low-income individuals and families. He was chair of the Austin Housing Coalition and also served on Austin’s Downtown Commission.
